Our leather bags are shaped by clean lines, considered proportions + tactile materials chosen for how they feel as much as how they look. Every tote, cross-body bag, shoulder bag, belt bag + clutch is designed in Melbourne + handcrafted in Bali using cowhide + suede.

This is not trend-driven design. It is deliberate, structured + measured.
Structured Silhouettes

Whether it's a structured bag, an oversized leather tote, or a compact suede cross-body, each silhouette is designed to maintain its shape without unnecessary hardware or excess detailing. Clean edges + balanced proportions create a sense of quiet confidence.

Cowhide + Suede

Natural Leathers

We work primarily with premium cowhides, tactile cowfurs + rich suede leathers.

Cowhide provides strength + structure, offering a refined exterior that holds its form beautifully over time. Suede introduces softness + depth, creating contrast without distraction.

Inside, soft suede linings add warmth + texture - a luxurious detail just for the wearer.

Natural variation in grain + tone is not corrected or over-processed. It's part of the material's character.

Designed for Everyday Movement

A structured bag should not restrict how you move. Many Tan + Brown pieces are designed with versatility in mind.

Capacity is intentional. Some styles are designed to hold only the essentials. Others are scaled for laptop + daily carry.

The concept of the Private Atelier is to share something usually kept behind the scenes - the experience of imagining a bag, choosing every detail + then seeing it come to life. It's a slower, more personal process + one we guide you through from start to finish.
